Myrtle Vaughn Fatka, 94, a resident of the Hiawatha Care Center formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, December 19, 2005 at the care center from complications of Alzheimer's Disease.
Graveside services will be held at 3:00 pm on Thursday, December 22, 2005 at Czech National Cemetery.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at Brosh Chapel, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her son Mike Fatka of Ames; daughter Marlene (Marty) Good and her husband William of Hiawatha; eleven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Marvin Fatka, and daughter Maureen Tickal.
Myrtle was born on June 8, 1911 in Spokane, Washington.  She graduated from Marengo High School in 1928 and attended Business College in Cedar Rapids. Myrtle worked as a secretary at Roosevelt Junior High in the 1950's.  She later worked for Collins Radio and retired in 1973.  She then moved to Florida and worked for Walt Disney World in Orlando for fifteen years.  She was a member of Eastern Star and the American Legion Auxiliary.  She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
