Monica Caroline Smith, 35, of Cedar Rapids, gained her angel wings on Jan. 19, 2023.

Monica was born on March 12, 1987, the daughter of Stanley Smith and Jodi Perez. Monica is survived by her father, Stanley (special friend Sharon Stern); her siblings, Darrell (Carrie) Perez, Amanda Cousins, Travis (Ciara) Smith and Jesse (Stacy) Smith; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins; two children, Jodi and Maria; many friends; and her significant other, Brandon.

Monica was preceded in death by her mother, Jodi; grandparents Caroline and Lee Webster and Jake and Karen Smith; and a daughter, Josephine.

Monica will be cremated, and the family will be holding a Celebration of Life at North Point on Center Point Road from to 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 22.
