Milo F. Stancel, 91, of Norway, died Monday, February 4, 2008 at Colonial Manor Nursing Home. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids with Rev. William Harnish presiding. Burial will follow in Linwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids.
Milo was born February 16, 1916 in Linn County, the son of Joseph and Lottie (Pirkel) Stancel. He married Anna Krofta on January 26, 1948. Milo worked at Amana Refrigeration for 25 years and was a farmer in the Norway, Amana area his entire life.
Milo is survived by his sisters Adeline Volesky, Lottie Yercies, and Evelyn (Bob) Bush; brother George Stancel; nephew Leo Stancel; and niece Irene (Jim) Hutton.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Anna in 1967; three brothers Louis, Lumir, and Joseph; and two sisters Alma and Roseanne.
Memorials may be directed to the Cedar Valley Humane Society.
