Milo "Mike" Machacek, 78 of Solon, died Sunday, December 21, 2008 at St. Luke's Hospital from a lengthy illness.  Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 27 at Brosh Chapel in Solon with Rev. Tom Carver presiding.  Burial to follow in Oakland Cemetery.  Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Brosh Chapel in Solon.

Mike was born November 21, 1930 near Cou Falls in rural Johnson County, the son of Frank and Agnes Sedlacek Machacek.  He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He married Annelee "Annie" Velky on March 29, 1958 at the Shueyville United Methodist Church.   He farmed nearly all his life in the Ely area.

Mike is survived by his wife Annie, a daughter Laurie (Tim) Broghammer of Solon, a son Mickey (Deb) Machacek of Solon, 2 grandchildren Annelyn and Michael Broghammer.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a stepfather Robert Johnston and a twin brother Leo Machacek.
