Mildred "Millie" Marie Louvar, 88, of Cedar Rapids, passed away peacefully, Saturday, February 19, 2022, in her home surrounded by her loving family. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, February 23, 2022, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW. Celebration of Life Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, February 24, 2022, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids. Burial will be in Czech National Cemetery.
Mildred was born August 20, 1933, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Richard P. and Angeline (Novotny) Miller. She graduated from Wilson High School. Mildred was united in marriage to Robert "Bob" Louvar on March 28, 1952, in Cedar Rapids. She worked for many years at a Pharmacy Technician at Drugtown and as Hostess at Hy-Vee Food Stores on Wilson Avenue. She enjoyed sewing, dancing, occasionally visiting the casino, and most of all, spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Millie is survived by her husband Bob of nearly 70 years; her children Lonnie (Paula) Louvar of Miles, Debra (Terry) Bright of Atkins and Steve (Jackie) Louvar of Cedar Rapids; eight grandchildren (Gina, Zach, Leeann, Stefanie, Morgan, Mitch, Michelle, and Carl); eleven great-grandchildren (Josephine, Rosalie, Aiden, Kaydence, Rylan, Nolan, Aria, Kenley, Madisyn, Brooklyn, and Joshua); her siblings Judy Rich, and Janice Patten; her sister-in-law Jean Louvar; and her brothers-in-law Al (Holly) Louvar and Gary (Sandy) Louvar.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings Wilbur Miller, Harold Miller, Marlene (Vern) Schrimper, brothers-in-law Bob Patten, Dale Rich, and Dick Louvar, and an infant son.
Memorials may be directed to the family.
