Michelle Ann West, 46, of Cedar Rapids, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at Mercy Medical Center.  Celebration of Life Services will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW in Cedar Rapids. Friends may visit with the family at the chapel on Saturday after 10 a.m.

Michelle was born September 3, 1972 in Prairie Du Chien, Wisconsin, the daughter of Roger James and Jeanette Marie (Gohde) Dyke. At a young age, they moved to Cedar Rapids where she spent the rest of her life. Michelle married Cortez West on November 4, 2006 in Cedar Rapids. Michelle was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. She dedicated her life to providing for her four children while being a nurse and caring for others. She was a hard working nurse and loved to care for the elderly.  In her spare time, she enjoyed playing Bingo, following the Green Bay Packers, watching Law and Order and Lifetime movies, reading Danielle Steel books, and spending time with her grandsons.

Michelle is survived by her husband Cortez; children Lenora West, Teshinna West, Cortez West, Jr., and Courtnee West; step daughters Kiara West-Doyle and Sierra Rooney; grandsons Travonte Hughes, Jr. and Drae'Syn West; mother Jeanette Dyke; sister Tammy (Dathon) Redmond; and many nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents, father Roger Dyke, brother Troy Dyke, and sister in law Regina West.
