Michael James Brickner, 58, of Cedar Rapids, passed following a long illness Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at Mercy Medical Center. Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday November 13, 2011 with visitation starting at 1 p.m. Sunday at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW. Michael was born on January 18, 1953 in Solon to Vernon and Betty (Steensgaard) Brickner. Michael married Maxine Gardner on June 28, 1997 in Newton. He worked as a press operator for over 25 years at various news papers. Michael loved the outdoors and loved riding his Harley. Michael is survived by his wife Maxi, a sister Mary Jo (Jerry) Wolf, four granddaughters, 3 great grandchildren, a niece, two nephews and many close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
