Melissa Marie Anderson, 41, of Iowa City, passed away on Tuesday, June 15, 2021, at home in Iowa City.  Private Funeral Mass will be in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Solon.  Private family inurnment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.  Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Solon is in charge of arrangements

Melissa was born October 27, 1979, in Wurzburg, Germany.

Melissa is survived by her mother Joan Anderson of Solon; father Jeffrey Anderson of Roswell, New Mexico; her siblings Rick (Pam) Anderson of West Point, New York, Kathryn Anderson of Solon and Theresa (Tom) McDonald of Minneapolis, Minnesota; her niece and nephew Maya and Marshall Anderson of West Point, New York; her grandmother Eileen Anderson of West Branch; as well as her many aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Richard and Boots Breza and Harold Anderson.

Melissa made everyone smile with her larger-than-life personality and infectious laugh.  She was known for giving the best hugs.  She enjoyed participating in Special Olympics, attending Camp Courageous of Iowa, and watching the Hawkeyes and professional wrestling.
