Maxine Elizabeth Stine, 94 of Lisbon, died Friday, March 13, 2009 at Mechanicsville Nursing and Rehab Center. Memorial services will be at a later date at Mason Cemetery, near Mechanicsville. Brosh Chapel in Solon is in charge of arrangements.
Maxine was born November 12, 1914 on a farm east of Sutliff in rural Cedar County, the daughter of Raymond and Elizabeth (Brown) Kamberling. Maxine worked as a telephone operator until her marriage to Mason Stine on September 5, 1936 in Dubuque. Maxine enjoyed reading, sewing, and traveling in her later years.
Maxine is survived by her sons, Boyd Stine of Mechanicsville and Neil (Janice) Stine of Lisbon; grandchildren, Martin Stine, Vincent Stine, Dawn (Scott) Sutton, Mason Stine, and Marvin Stine; greatgrandchildren, Maverick, Amanda, Mason, Samantha, Jewel, Alex, Allie, Tyler, and Micah; sister-in-law Carmen Kamberling; half sisters, Raleen Straite and Wanda (Virgil) Clark; and half sister-in-law, Nancy Kamberling.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Mason on November 10, 2002; grandson, Brian Stine; brother, Howard Kamberling, daughter-in-law Erma Stine; and half brother, Bill Kamberling;
