Maxine Florence Seibert, 93 died Thursday, March 30 at Heritage Care Center after a lengthy illness. Private family services will be held at a later date at Cedar Memorial Cemetery. Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids is in charge of arrangements.
Maxine is survived by her daughters Nancy (Reuben) Schorg, and Doris (Tom) Boom; brother Stanley (Fontell) Plummer; sister Nadine Fattig; five grandchildren; nine greatgrandchildren; and one greatgreatgrandchild.
Maxine was preceded into death by her parents, her husband John who died on March 28, 1977, and a sister Charlotte Plummer.
Maxine was born May 28, 1912 in Cedar Rapids the daughter of William and Tessie E. (Sargent) Plummer.
Maxine graduated from Cedar Rapids High School on June 4, 1930. She married John Melvin Seibert October 19, 1946. She was a member of St. Marks United Methodist Church, and a 45 year member of Eastern Star.
Maxine and John loved to travel all over America. She loved being outdoors, hunting, fishing, and spending time at their home on the Mississippi. Family was very important to her, including spending time with her grandchildren.
