Maureen Patricia Perkins, 85, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, March 07, 2015 at St. Lukes Hospital. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 11, 2014 at Stonebridge Church, located at 1829 Stoney Point Road, with burial to follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW. Maureen was born March 15, 1929 in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of William James and Eunice (Gillin) Maudsley. She graduated from St. Patrick's School in 1947. Maureen worked at Penick & Ford, Collins Radio, Benton Opportunities, and at KCRG where she retired. She was united in marriage to William W. Murphy, and to this union nine children born. Maureen was later married to David Perkins Sr. She enjoyed cooking, making kolaches and homemade noodles, going to the casino, but most all the time spent with her family, especially the grandkids. Maureen is survived by her children William Murphy Jr., Steve (Barbara) Murphy both of Cedar Rapids, Patty (Ron) Phelps and Craig (Roseann) Murphy both of Urbana, Colleen (Mike) McGinty of Fairfax, Dan (Stephanie) Murphy of Cedar Rapids, Mike (Jodi) Murphy of Marion, Mary Jackson of DeWitt, and Deanna Wirtanen (Jarron) of Marengo; twenty grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law Patricia Maudsley of Walker. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Donald, William, and her twin brother Eugene Maudsley, her sisters Dorothea Hughes and Margaret Perkins. Memorials may be directed to the family. The family would like to thank the staff at St. Lukes Hospice Center for their loving care of Maureen.
