Mattie Elizabeth Dwyer, 96, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Des Moines, died Wednesday, January 19, 2022, in her sons home.  Memorial Services will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at Beaverdale Estates, located 4610 Douglas Avenue, Des Moines, Iowa.

Mattie was born September 7, 1925, in Tacoma, Washington, the daughter of William and Mattie (Greenman) Irwin.  She is survived by her children John William (Sandy) Dwyer, Martin Edward Dwyer, Catherine (Dave) Anderson and Mary (Bruce) Cairns; grandchildren Robert Cotrone, Krista (Clint) Liller, John David Dwyer, Molly Dwyer; great-grandchildren Megan, Katie, Abigail, James Liller III and John Timothy; niece Paula Irwin and nephew William "Billy" Irwin.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Margaret "Maggie" Dwyer, and her siblings Ben Irwin and Max Irwin.
