Mary M. Tichy, 96 of Ely, died Thursday, December 7 at Living Center East from a short illness.  Services will be 2 p.m. Monday December 11 at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids.  Burial will follow in Rogers Grove Cemetery rural Ely.  Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Brosh Chapel and for an hour prior to services Monday at the chapel.

Mary was born July 13, 1910 in Ely the daughter of Charles and Anna Pavelka Tichy.  Mary worked as a private housekeeper for many years in the Cedar Rapids area.  She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.  She loved gardening and tending to her flowers.  She was a member of the Blue Willow Club, the Friendship Club and the church bible study.

Mary is survived by her sister in law Marie Tichy of Ely; nieces and nephews Charles and Bonnie Tichy of Ely, Kathy Tichy of Solon, SuAnn Tichy of Ely, Rich and Pam Tichy of Ely, Rosemary and Jim Novak of Cedar Rapids as well as her great and greatgreat nieces and nephews and a greatgreatgreat nephew.

Preceding her in death were her parents, three brothers Charles, George and Joe Tichy; two sisters Rose Tomasek and Agnes Tichy; two nephews David and Steve Tichy, and a great niece Janet Tichy.
