Mary G. Shakespeare, 78, passed away Monday, May 21, 2018 with family members at her side. Mary was born April 28, 1940 to Francis Ditch and Mary Snobl Ditch. She grew up on a farm in Bertram, Iowa. Mary had five brothers, Arnold, Stanley, Delbert, Larry, and Leonard. On October 1, 1960 she married David Joseph Shakespeare. They raised five children on a hobby farm in Toddville, Bryan of Palo, Bruce of Center Point, Gary (Patrice) of Keystone, Teresa (Jim) of Newhall and Tammy of Cedar Rapids. Mary worked at Collins Radio and drove bus for Center Point and Alburnett Schools. Mary enjoyed gardening, gambling, Iowa sports and the Chicago Cubs. Mary leaves behind seven grandsons and granddaughters and one step grandson. Also, thirteen great grandkids and one step great granddaughter. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brothers, Arnold and Leonard. A celebration of life will be held at a later date by her children.
