Mary Philomena Pisney, 99, who died Thursday, December 24, 2015.   Funeral service will be 9:30 a.m. Tuesday Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at St. Wenceslaus Church in Cedar Rapids, located at 1224 5th St. SE, 52401, with burial to follow in St. Johns Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 5 to 6 p.m. Monday, December 28, 2015 at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW, where there will be a 6 p.m. Celebration of Life, conducted by Pastor Mike Pisney and Pastor Jeff Pishney.

Mary was born on the family farm near Watkins, the daughter of George and Mary (Voss) Gessner on March 29, 1916.  She was known as the sweet lady with the beautiful smile and a twinkle in her eye.  Since she has trusted Jesus to be her personal Savior, she is now in heaven.  She was a devoted wife, wonderful mother, grandmother, with many wonderful friends and will be greatly missed.

Mary is survived by her son Dave (Pat) Pisney and her daughter Carol (Larry) Ross, seven grandchildren Mike, Jeff, Matt, Sarah, Joy, Roger and Stacy; twelve great-grandchildren with one more on the way.  She was preceded in death by her husband Lumir, daughter Nancy, three brothers, and one sister.
