Mary Jo Jehle, 78, of Cedar Rapids, passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2024, in her home. Celebration of Life Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW.  Interment will be held at St. Mary Cemetery in Solon. Friends may visit with the family after 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday prior to the service.

Mary was born June 9, 1946, in Iowa City to Joseph and Mary (Koss) Sovers. She graduated from Solon High School in 1964 and attended the University of Iowa. She was employed as a legal assistant in the Cedar Rapids area for many years. She was a deputy clerk for the US Courts for 20 years, retiring in 2007.

Mary married Robert Jehle in Solon on June 14, 1975. They enjoyed spending time together traveling in the US, Canada, and Europe. She also enjoyed antiquing and playing the piano.

Mary is survived by her husband Robert, his nieces Melanie (Bob) Stutzman and Susan Jehle (Chris Dautremont) and nephew Scott (Kelly) Jehle, and many cousins.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents, in-laws, Robert and Esther Jehle, brothers-in-law Harold, Donald, and George, and sisters-in-law Karen and Joan, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
