Mary Catherine Hartman, 77 of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, April 17, 2015 at Crestview Acres in Marion. A celebration gathering for Mary will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, April 27, 2015 at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW, where there will be a time of sharing at 6:30 p.m. Mary was born December 17, 1937 in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Robert and Mary (Callan) Neal. She graduated from St. Patrick's High School in 1956. In the 60's she was a floral designer at Stejskal's until starting a family and becoming a full-time homemaker. She married Richard Hartman on February 6, 1965 in Cedar Rapids and he survives. She loved volunteering at Olivet Mission, playing cards, reading, going to garage sales and spending time with her family. She is survived by her daughter; Cathy (Mike) Spina, aka Cathy Hart, her grandchildren; Rick (Lindsay) Gallo and Christopher (Johanna Wallace) Gallo, and 1 great granddaughter, Faith Mae Gallo, two sisters; Margaret (Jim) Barthelme, Jane (Glenn) Kimball, and a brother Steven (Mary Ellen) Neal. She was preceded in death by her brother Patrick Neal, an infant brother, John and a grandson Casey Daniel Gallo. Memorials may be directed to the family.
