Mary Joan Grover, 77 of Solon, died Monday, June 18, 2012 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, June 22, 2012 at Brosh Chapel in Solon, located at 100 S. Cedar Street. Private family burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery in Solon. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Friday at Brosh Chapel in Solon. Mary was born August 11, 1934 in Waterloo, the daughter of Allen J. and Irma I. (Goss) Peverill. She married Robert Grover on October 25, 1953 in Waterloo. Mary worked many years as a secretary at University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She enjoyed camping and trout fishing in Northern Iowa, crocheting, collecting Fenton milkglass and watching Court T.V. She also spent many hours on Facebook and playing online solitaire. Mary is survived by her husband Robert (Bob); children; Steve (Marilyn) of Solon, Nat Grover LaCroix (Karen Sheldon) of Iowa City, Barbara Grover of Fort Worth, TX and Randy (Kris) of Elkader; grandchildren; Paul (Donna) LaCroix, Rob LaCroix, Lyndsi (Neven) Price, Casey (Sara) Grover, and Sondra Grover; great-grandchildren; Brandon, Alexis, Christian, Madison, Kaylee, and Kynnedi; a sister Bonnie Christensen and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother James Peverill and a grandson Corey Grover. The family would like to thank the staff at the Solon Nursing Care Center and Mercy Hospital Iowa City ICU for their loving care of Mary. Memorials may be directed to the family.
