Marvin was a life-time resident of the southwest side of Cedar Rapids
until recently moving to the Urbandale Health Care Center with his wife,
Leona, to be near their daughter.
Marvin was born on June 19, 1920, to Frank E. and Libbie Rocarek in Cedar
Rapids. He was the second oldest of seven children. Marvin met the love
of his life, Leona, in 1941 and was married shortly afterwards. He was a
devoted husband and father, married to Leona for 74 years.

England, France and Germany. Later, he was a member of the American

Marvin and Leona were long-time members of the former Eden United Church
of Christ. He was a retiree of Penick & Ford, and also worked for Midland
Forge.
Through the years, Marvin enjoyed bowling, traveling, being with family,
John Wayne movies, the Grand Ole Opry, Hawkeye football, and was an avid

as the "guardian angel" of Leona and watching over her until the very end.

Montgomery of Watkins; brothers Robert of Palmdale, California and Don of
