Marvin Evert Livermore, 89, of Mt. Vernon, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 30, 2021, at Hallmark Nursing and Rehab Center.  Celebration of life services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 6, 2021, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW, with Reverend Brian Middleswarth presiding.  Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Solon, where full military rites will be conducted.  Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, July 5, 2021, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids.

Marvin was born August 16, 1931, in Iowa City, the son of Voris and Audrey (Kline) Livermore.  He lived in Brazil from 1936 – 1940. Marvin graduated from Cedar Rapids McKinley High School, class of 1950.  He served in the United States Air National Guard from 1951 – 1953 during the Korean Conflict.  Marvin was united in marriage to Verna See, November 14, 1961, at Shueyville United Methodist Church.  He worked as sanitation engineer, carpenter, semi-driver, and retired from Cedar Rapids Welding Supplies in 1993.  Marvin bought a farm on the Ivanhoe Road in 1956, where he and Verna farmed and raised their family.   He enjoyed dancing, making firewood, playing cards and spending time with his family.

Marvin is survived by his wife Verna; three children Randy Livermore, Julie Livermore and Becky (Terry Ard) Livermore; three granddaughters Kali (Ryan) Wegner, Cheyenne Yerkes, and Sierra Candler; two great-grandchildren Xander and Star; two step-granddaughter Sonya and Andrea Ard; brother-in-law Cliff Stone; sisters-in-law Trula Ahrendsen and Lenna See; as well as his nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister Loretta Stone.
