Marvin F. Jindrich, 80 of rural Swisher died Tuesday, July 24, 2007 at Mercy Medical Center, following a short illness.  Funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 27, 2007 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Fairfax. Burial will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at Czech National Cemetery in Cedar Rapids.  Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, where there will be a 7 p.m. vigil.
Survivors include his devoted wife of 58 years, Adeline; three daughters, Darla Michalec of Fairfax, Connie Miller and husband Rowley, Renae Ward and husband Tony all of Cedar Rapids, nine grandchildren, Benji Michalec and fiancé Stacy Wichman, Mindi and husband Cole Young, Jesse Michalec, Heidi Michalec, Angie Miller, Alicia Miller, Brandi and husband Andy Lawrance, Nicholas Ward, Shawn Ward; and two great grandchildren Lexi and Lacy Young.
Marvin was born December 28, 1926 in Johnson County, the son of Frank and Mary Vorel Jindrich.  He was united in marriage to Adeline Ludvicek October 12, 1948, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Fairfax. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter, son-in-law Ben Michalec, and a granddaughter Amy Miller.
Marvin was a life long farmer, in rural Swisher and in the past worked at the Amana Meat Market, and Waconia Sorghum Company.  He was a life long member at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Fairfax; Fairfax Senior Citizens, WFLA Lodge 400, and the Farm Bureau.

He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.  Living in rural Swisher, he had numerous friends and acquaintances.  He especially enjoyed lawn and garden work and playing cards with friends and neighbors at family night card club gatherings.
He will be dearly missed by family and friends.
