Marvin Frank Dostal, 80, of Cedar Rapids died Friday, January 4, 2008 at his home from a short illness. Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Monday, January 7 at St. Johns Cemetery. Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids is in charge of arrangements.
Marvin was born September 8, 1927 in Ely, the son of Frank C. and Mary Rehak Dostal. He married Laverne Meskimen on November 13, 1950 in Cedar Rapids. She died November 26, 1985. He married Dorothy Nissen on March 8, 1989 in Las Vegas.
Marvin is survived by his wife Dorothy; a sister Helen (Jerry) Merta of Fairfax, Esther Kadlec of Robins; a brother Arnold (Marlene) Dostal of Cedar Rapids; a stepdaughter Cheryl (John) Pickart of Norway; a stepson Randy (Pam) Nissen of Martelle; stepgrandchildren Nick(Allison), Nicole, Michael (Tammy) and Emily; a stepgreatgranchild Noah.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Laverne, and a brother in law George Kadlec.
