Martha "Marty" M. Clark, 90 of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, May 8, 2006 at her home. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 12 at St. Ludmila Catholic Church with Fr. Tom McDermott presiding. Burial will follow in Czech National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, and for an hour prior to services Friday at the church.
Marty was born April 15, 1916 in Solon the daughter of Edward and Mary Reyhons Brickner. She married Harry Clark, June 15, 1939. Marty worked as a cook and baker for the Cedar Rapids School Systems for over 30 years. She also owned and operated Lindy's Restaurant for 5 years.
Marty is survived by her husband Harry; sons David (Karla) and Gerald ( Brenda) Clark all of Cedar Rapids; six grandchildren Elizabeth (Greg) Glimco of Chicago, Illinois, Amy (Dave) Dighton of Center Point, Jeff (Tracy) Clark of Ely, Dan (Sharon) Clark, Bill Clark and Scott Clark all of Cedar Rapids; ten greatgrandchildren Joey, Nick, Danielle, Colin, Jack, Kelly, Kerry, Matthew, Jordan, and Zachary; a sister Margaret Keith of Solon; and a sister in law Betty Brickner of Cedar Rapids.
Preceding her in death were her parents, a brother Vernon Brickner, and a brother in law Dean Keith.
Marty had a real love for life. She enjoyed the time spent with her family and friends. Among the things that brought her joy, were cooking, baking, especially kolaches, going fishing and playing cards.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Hospice of Mercy and or the American Cancer Society.
