Marietta Beuter, 83, of Solon, died Wednesday, October 18, 2006 at the Solon Nursing Care Center in Solon after a lengthy illness.  Funeral Mass will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 24, 2006 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Solon.  Burial will follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Solon.  Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, at Brosh Chapel, were there will be a 6 p.m. vigil service.  Visitation will also be an hour prior to services at the church.

Marietta was born January 9, 1923 in Iowa City, the daughter of William F. and Mary Etta (Oathout) Lehman.  She married Eugene Richard Beuter on January 14, 1942 in Solon.  Marietta was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Stinocher Post 460 and the National Catholic Society of Foresters.  She worked for the Solon Economist for 30 years and managed the Solon Community Credit Union for 20 years.  She loved to play cards, bingo and was an avid reader.

Marietta is survived by two sons Richard W. (Kathleen) Beuter of Indianapolis, Indiana and Raymond D. Beuter of Oxford; two daughters Bonnie (Thomas) Banse of Strawberry Point and Barbara (Donald) Vesely of St. Peters, Missouri; 9 grandchildren;  9 great grandchildren, and a sister in law Laurena Lehman of Iowa City. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Eugene in November of 1978; a sister Elsie Brack; and five brothers Edward, Francis, Carl, Lloyd and George.
