Funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 20, 2008 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Solon with Fr. Michael Phillips and Fr. David Wilkening presiding. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Newport Township. Visitation will be from 4 until 7 p.m. Sunday at Brosh Chapel in Solon, where there will be a 7 p.m. rosary.
Marie was born January 17, 1916 in Solon, the daughter of Frank F. and Mary A. (Brickner) Kral. She married Eugene "Gene" Crosheck on August 25, 1937 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Iowa City. Marie and Gene were married 63 years. Gene passed away May 9, 2001.
Marie was a mother, homemaker, and an active partner in the family farm. She still lived on the farm and treasured her independence. Marie will be remembered for her love of reading and her creative artwork on the computer. She was a wonderful cook- her kolaches and pies will be fondly recalled. She liked songbirds, poultry and her barn cats. She had a green thumb with vegetables and flowers. She enjoyed fishing and eating the fish she caught. Marie made a lot of handiwork by sewing, crocheting and embroidering. Her creations will be treasured. She loved going to play pinochle and euchre with longtime friends. She regularly attended Saturday mass where she visited with her special group of friends. Even though she was a longtime member of St. Wenceslaus, she also attended Tuesday mass and potluck at St. Mary's in Solon. She was a member of the National Catholic Society of Foresters and prayed the rosary daily.
Her thoughtfulness and care for friends and family will be long remembered. Her bright spirit and open heart showed others what it meant to live a life of loving kindness.
