Marie C. Barnes, 77, well loved by her husband, children, and all who knew her passed away Sunday morning September 18, 2005 at Mercy Medical Center following a sudden illness.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, September 20, 2005 at Brosh Chapel, Cedar Rapids with Rev. William Harnish, officiating.  Inurnment will be at a later date in Colorado.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to services Tuesday at the chapel.

Marie was born on September 12, 1928 in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Emil and Agnes (Brosh) Sadecky.  She married Don Barnes on September 7, 1985 in Englewood, Colorado.  Marie was a homemaker caring for her home and family.  She was also an avid golfer.

Survivors include her husband Don of Englewood, Colorado; daughter Dee (Gilbert) Davies of Cedar Rapids; son Steve (Julie) Pata of Denver, Colorado; grandchildren Keri, April, Jodi, Kendall, and Kylah; great-grandchildren Zachary, Tyler, Ontario, and Brandon; a sister Bernice McKibben of Littleton, Colorado; and a brother Richard Sadecky of Fairfax.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A memorial fund has been established in her name.
