Mardelle Sanborn, 83, of Cedar Rapids passed Wednesday afternoon, September 28, 2005 at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids after a short illness.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, October 3, 2005 at Brosh Chapel, Cedar Rapids. Interment will follow at Czech National Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2 to 5 on Sunday at Brosh Chapel, Cedar Rapids.
Mardelle was born on July 31, 1922 in Mount Auburn, Iowa the daughter of Edwin and Genevieve (Hains) Anderson. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in Cedar Rapids. Mardelle married Floyd Sanborn on May 17, 1938. Mardelle enjoyed her grandchildren, working word puzzles, and The Enquirer and Star Magazines. She also liked to go camping and fishing. She was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband of 67 years Floyd Sanborn of Cedar Rapids; children Sandra (Don) McArtor of Cedar Rapids, Patricia (Ron) Porazil of Belle Plaine, Roxanne (Dennis) Scofield of Solon, and Michael (Kathy) Sanborn of Cedar Rapids; nine grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and a sister Lois Beebe of Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her mother Genevieve Anderson Voracek, father Edwin Anderson, step father Tony Voracek, a sister Doris Whiting, infant son Terry, and a granddaughter Sherri Null.
