Mabel Marie "Babi" (Kilberger) Ludvicek, 97, of Cedar Rapids , died Thursday, April 1, 2010 at Northbrook Manor Care Center from age related Leukemia. Services will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids , located at 2121 Bowling Street SW with Fr. Tom McDermott presiding. Burial will follow in Linwood Cemetery . Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids .

Mabel was born March 7, 1913 in Swisher, the daughter of Albert and Mary (Bohac) Kilberger. She married Benjamin Ludvicek on September 14, 1933.

Mabel is survived by daughter Erma (Dick) Cilek and her son Ernest (Joyce) Ludvicek. Her grandchildren Dianne (Greg) Neal, Susan (Marty) Seebeck, Janet (Brett) Brubaker, Kathy (Ron) Petrick, Mike (Chalet) Ludvicek, Jim Cilek, Cheryl (Chris) Taylor and Karol (Joe) Ludvicek-Zitek; great-grandchildren Rochelle Neal, Allison Neal, Charles Brubaker, Jason (Tiffany) Seebeck, Samantha Neal, Clayton Brubaker, Joseph Zitek IV, Kean Ludvicek, Brittany Petrick, Allen Cilek, Kelsi Ludvicek, Moya Cilek, Amanda Petrick, Kaylie Zitek, Winston Taylor and Justice Taylor; great-great grandchildren Landon Seebeck and Domnik Neal.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Benjamin who died on December 27, 1968, her sister Wilma Stritesky and brothers William and Alvin Kilberger, and a great grandson Benjamin Petrick.

Mabel loved gardening and growing flowers. For many years she grew and donated African violets to the St. Lukes Gift Shop. She loved bingo at Hills Bank and the care center. She baked many cookies which she enjoyed sharing with family and friends.

A memorial fund has been established in Mabel's memory.
