Avenue SE, died Saturday, July 1, 2006 at his home from a lengthy illness. Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 6 at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids. Visitation will be one hour prior to services Thursday at the chapel.
Lyle was born May 18, 1940 in Iowa City, the son of Glen Allen and Erma Irene Kuehl Davenport. He married Wilma Ann Wilson July 21, 1961 in Cedar Rapids. Lyle served in the U.S. Navy for 4 years. He worked for the City of Cedar Rapids for over 30 years in Parking Meter Department
Lyle is survived by his wife Wilma, his children, a son Jim (Kim) Davenport; a daughter Jean (Wayne) Hard and a son Glen (Carie) Davenport; grandchildren Bret, Ashley, Jason, Adam, Amy, Shayna, Kale, Kyle, Courtney, and Troy; a brother Robert Davenport all of Cedar Rapids. He is preceded in death by his parents.
