Lydia Evans, 93 of 2131 1 st Avenue SE #104 Cedar Rapids, formerly of Chicago, Illinois went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 19 at St. Lukes Hospital.  She is survived by a son Nelson Evans Jr.; daughters Elizabeth McKinney, Lydia Evans Jr., Pearl (Bernard) Gill all of Cedar Rapids; eight grandchildren, Alice Evans, Alizabeth Lord (Britt) Jetter, Gladys Evans, Nicole McKinney, James (Latisha) McKinney Jr., Nelson Evans III, LeShawn Lynn, Brittney Mitchell.  Great grandchildren, Araf Evans-Sykes, Amber and Austin Mason, Erika, Rochelle and Brittany Floyd, Kendall Gresham, Jordan Burgett, Bari'ah Donelson, special nephew Robert Scott and niece Carolyn Morris.  A host of nieces and nephews celebrate her home going.
Services will be Wednesday, May 24, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 824  8 th Street SE, Cedar Rapids, with Rev. Lonnie Jordan III presiding.  Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m.Tuesday at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids and for an hour prior to services at the church.  Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday, May 26, 2006 in Burr Oak Cemetery, Alsip, Illinois.
