Luella M. Spike, 93, of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, September 14, 2021, at Westridge Care Center.  As per Luella's wishes private graveside services will be held in Fort Dodge Memorial Cemetery.  Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids are in charge of arrangements.

Luella was born November 22, 1927, in rural Fort Dodge, the daughter of John P. and Violet M. (Stringer) Walrod.  She graduated from Fort Dodge High School.  Luella was united in marriage to Charles K. Spike on January 1, 1948, in Fort Dodge.  She worked at Central Phone in Fort Dodge from 1948-1961, and at Killian's Department Store as a PBX Operator from 1964 – 1982.   She enjoyed going to play bingo with her daughter Cindy, go out to eat with her friends, and loved to talk on the phone.

Luella is survived by her daughter Cynthia "Cindy" Spike and her three dogs Lola, Sophie and Little One, and her cat Misty.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charlie, two sisters Jennie Rose Powers and Eva Lee Miller, and her brother John E. Walrod.
