LuElla (Womochil) Koopman, 52, died Friday February 21, 2014. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday February 27th, 2014 at Brosh Chapel, 2121 Bowling Street SW, Cedar Rapids. Burial will follow at Hala Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Brosh Chapel. LuElla was born May 12, 1961 in Cedar Rapids to Leonard and Bernice (Probst) Womochil. She graduated from Prairie High School in 1979. She married Dennis Koopman on September 14, 1981. She worked as an Administrative Assistant for the Department of Agricultural Sciences at Kirkwood Community College. LuElla spent many hours working in her beautiful garden and taking care of the farm. In the past, she was involved with the Newhall Jaycees and Pork Producers. She also volunteered her time as a mentor in the Big Brothers/Big Sisters program. In her leisure time she enjoyed working with horses, fishing, camping, restoring the farmstead, exercising, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. LuElla is survived by her children: Brooke (Cory) Strasser, Brandie (Nathan) Gross, Rebecca (Brad) Norton, Dustin (Emily) Koopman, Eric Koopman, grandchildren: Zachary and Elizabeth Strasser, Hannah and Aiden Gross, Rileigh, Gracie and Haleigh Norton, Wyatt and Stella Koopman, siblings: Dennis (Irene) Womochil, Linda Werning, LoraLea Womochil, Lola (Rick) Kruse, niece Kristie Werning, two nephews: Aaron (Deanna) Werning and Matt Zelinski and two great nephews: Max and Mario Werning. LuElla was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Dean. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
