Louis George Kacere, 88, of Living Center East, died Saturday, November 29, 2008 at Mercy Medical Center.  Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, December 1, 2008 at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, temporarily located at 3100 F Avenue NW.  Services will be private. Burial will be in St. George Cemetery.

Louis was born January 7, 1920 in Cedar Rapids, the son of George and Amelia (Ayash) Kacere.  He married Donna Schladetzky on August 20, 1950 in Cedar Rapids.  Louis was a US Postal Mail Carrier for 30 years until he retired in 1981.  He was an avid bowler and softball player.  He was a member of the Cedar Rapids, Iowa and National Hall of

Fame for Bowling, and was a Cedar Rapids Hall of Fame Member in Softball.  He served as past president of the 700 Club in bowling.

Louis is survived by his son, Louis Jr. (Mary) Kacere of Cedar Rapids, and Scott (Julie) Kacere of Marion; grandsons, Brandon (Anabel), Aaron (Norma), Chad, and Eric.

He was preceded in death by his parents;his wife Donna in November of 1982;  his brothers, Nicholas, Albert, and Michael, and his sister, Bertha Meyers.
