Loretta K. Schleder, 84, of Iowa City, Iowa passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2026 at Cottage Grove Place. Celebration of Life Services will be held Friday, March 27, 2026 at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW. Friends may visit with the family starting at 1:30 p.m. on Friday prior to the 2:00 service. A private family inurnment will be held at Czech National Cemetery.

Loretta was born April 12, 1941, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Elvin J. and Irene (Ulch) Shultz. She graduated from Washington High School in Cedar Rapids. Loretta married Ronald D. Schleder on January 16, 1960 at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Cedar Rapids where they became long time members. Loretta enjoyed camping with her family and gardening. She was generous with her time volunteering with her sons Cub Scout Packs, Dorie's Bluebird group and numerous church activities. Later in life, taking off with Ron in one of their RV's was a favorite and always an adventure. Loretta was a wonderful baker. Her friends and family were the grateful beneficiaries, especially of Bohemian Houska bread at the holidays.  However, there was nothing she loved more than spending time with her family.

Loretta is survived by her children David Schleder of Frisco, TX, Daniel (Tina) Schleder of Cedar Rapids, Dorie (Terry) Stallings of Daphne, AL and Dennis Schleder of Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren Bradley, Ryley, Madison, Brandon, Ryan, Lucy and Taylor; great grandchildren Layla and Jack; and brother Larry (Betty) Shultz of Arizonia City, AZ

She was preceded in death by her grandson Derek and husband Ron.
