Logan David Grant, 14, son of David and Annette Grant, brother of Ryan, passed away on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at St. Luke's Hospital. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 15, 2014 at St. Ludmila Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Czech National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 until 6 p.m. Sunday at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW. Logan was born May 8, 2000 in Iowa City, the son of David and Annette (Duehr) Grant. He was in the 8th grade at Prairie Point - College Community School. Logan enjoyed swimming, camping, boating, swinging, bowling, listening to music, playing with string, and most of all the time spent with his family. The special trips to McDonalds, Hy-Vee, Grandpa and Grandma's farm, and to go see his big brother Ryan were very important to him. He participated in the Iowa Special Olympics, and earned 1st place in bowling and 2nd place in the softball throw. Logan loved summer camp at Camp Courageous and Albrecht Acres, where he met many friends. He was involved in several activities with the ARC of Eastern Iowa. Logan is survived by his parents, David and Annette Grant; his brother Ryan Grant of North Liberty; maternal grandmother Mary Duehr of Balltown; paternal grandparents Emmett and Dennise Grant of Cascade; aunts Michelle (Jeff) Ketterer of Dubuque, Marsha (Gary) Gander of Fairfax, Amy (PJ) Cahill of Marion, Lisa (Rick) Klinkhammer of Balltown, Lori Duehr and Stacy Duehr both of Cedar Rapids, Roxanne Klostermann of Dyersville, Julie Aldrich of Monticello, Ann (Al) Brus of Dubuque, Trisia (Martin) Lahr of Coggon, and Diane (Greg) Miller of Walford; uncles Tony (Amy) Duehr of Durango, Henry Duehr of Coralville, Dan (Ann) Grant of Delhi, Tom (Theresa) Grant of Monticello; as well as his many cousins. He was preceded in death by maternal grandfather Lavern Duehr; three uncles Raymond Duehr, Nicholas Duehr, and Don Klostermann; aunts Cheryl Grant and Elizabeth Grant in infancy. Memorials may be directed to the family. The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the nurses, doctors and special caregivers that touched his life over the years.
