Lily Mae (Tate) Holt, 83 of Cedar Rapids went to be with the Lord Tuesday, September 26, 2006 at St. Luke's Hospital. A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 30, 2006 at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids with Rev. Diehl presiding. Private family inurnment will be held Monday at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Iowa City.
Lily was born April 30, 1923 in Cedar Rapids the daughter of Alex William and Emma Rachel Francis Tate. She married Carter Holt June 30, 1961 in Iowa City.
Lily is survived by a nephew Jack Reed of Chicago and a host of great nieces and great nephews. She also leaves behind her beloved cat, Ninja. Lily was preceded in death by her parents Alex and Emma Tate; her husband Carter Holt; three sisters Bertha Perkins, Jane Viola (Jack) Frazier, and Mildred (Smidge) O'bannon; three brothers James, Junior "Bud", and Sidney Tate.
