Lily Marie Barta, 87 of Solon died Saturday, November 18 at the Solon Care Center from a lengthy illness.  Funeral mass will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 22, 2006 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Fr. David Wilkening presiding.  Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery rural Solon.  Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m Tuesday, November 21 at Brosh Chapel in Solon where there will be a 6 p.m vigil.  Visitation will also be one hour prior to services Wednesday at the church.

Lily was born June 28, 1919 in Riverside the daughter of Albert and Bessie Wingler Weber.  Lily went to Riverside High School.  After high school she was a nanny until she married Virgil G. Barta on August 25, 1941 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. They farmed northeast of Solon for close to fifty years before retiring on Green Acres Drive in Solon.   She loved to garden and belonged to the National Order of Forresters.  She and Virgil spent many winters in Mesa, Arizona where they made many friends and enjoyed going to spring training baseball games.

Lily is survived by her children Allan (Sharlye) Barta of Wooster, Ohio, Dick (Joyce) Barta of Solon, Stan (Jackie) Barta of Iowa City, Linda (Jerry) Covington of Rochester, Indiana, Nancy (Bob) Sanderson of Colorado Springs, CO, and Jeff (Judi) Barta of Solon; fifteen grandchildren and two adopted grandchildren; fourteen greatgrandchildren; two sisters Ella Kiefer of Crown Point, Indiana and Mayme Hotz of Lone Tree.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband Virgil who died March 29, 1993, a sister Blanche Prybil.
