Lillie Louvar, of Cedar Rapids, 96, died Sunday, April 29th at Heritage Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 4th at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW with burial to follow in Czech National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 3rd at Brosh Chapel. Lillie was born October 5, 1915 in Reinbeck, the daughter of Hugo and Helen (DeVries) Horstman. She married Wesley Louvar on June 2, 1931 in Cresco. In 1942 they moved to Cedar Rapids. Lillie worked for many years at Ted's Pharmacy for many years until her retirement. She enjoyed her family and friends, going dancing, listening to music and tending to her garden. Lillie is survived by her sons Bob (Millie) Louvar of Cedar Rapids, Gary (Sandy) Louvar of Owasso, Oklahoma, Allen (Holly) Louvar of Temecula, California and a daughter-in-law Jean Louvar of Hinckley, Minnesota; twelve grandchildren; twenty six great-grandchildren and three great-greatgrandchildren. Lillie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son Dick Louvar, two brothers Jack Horstman and Henry Horstman, and four sisters Dorothy Kruger, Elsie Goodbrand, Emma McInroy, and Ella Nath, and a special friend Roy Malatek. Lillie was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed her friends and family and will be dearly missed by all. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Heritage for the loving care of Lillie. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the donor's choice of charities.
