Lillian A Vorel, 93, a resident of the Villa Rosa Care Center, Sahuarita, AZ, previously of Cedar Rapids, died peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, October 26, 2008. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, November 3, 2008 at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, temporarily located at 3100 F Avenue NW. Burial will follow in Czech National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 until 5 p.m. Sunday at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids.
Born May 17, 1915 near Amana in Johnson County, Lillian married Milo J. Vorel on July 6, 1935. He died in 1997. Lillian enjoyed cooking, crocheting, and gardening. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
Survivors include daughter, Nancy Lloyd (Patrick), Green Valley, AZ; grandchildren Lisa (Daryl) Gale, Manchester, MI and Robert (Jan) Valecka, Lewisville, TX; sisters Wilma Benish, Amana and Gladys Hrdlicka, Cedar Rapids; four great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Agnes Yearsa Schlueter, a sister, Mamie Asenbrener, brothers, Frank and Walter Schlueter; sister-in-laws, Helen and Henrietta Schlueter and brother-in-laws, Edwin Benish, Leo Asenbrener and Louis Hrdlicka.
