Lillian Serbousek Trunecek, 96 of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at her home. Services will be 1 p.m. Friday, September 16, 2011 at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW. Burial will follow in Czech National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Friday at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids. Lillian was born May 28, 1915 in Center Point, the daughter of Frank and Agnes Serbousek. She married Lumir Trunecek on February 22, 1942 in Kahoka, Missouri. She worked at Wilsons during World War II. Lillian was a homemaker, cook and baker for many years, working for various families in the Cedar Rapids area. She enjoyed playing bingo, quilting, crocheting, gardening, flowers, going dancing, listening to and playing Czech music on the accordion. Lillian is survived her son Dave. She was preceded in death by her parents, a step-mother Anna Serbousek, and her husband Lumir. Memorials may be directed to the family in her name. The family would like to thank the staff of Dr. James Bell, St. Luke's Palliative Care, Dr. Gordon Berg, Dr. Sue Callahan, Dr. Alan Robb, Dr. Mohammad N. Payvandi, Dr. John Hamm, Dr. Dave Knutson, Dr. Donald Johnson, St. Lukes Hospice, Home Choice, Witwer, Chaplain Jeremy Hudson, Meals on Wheels, Horizons, Aging Services especially Audrey Reid and Barb Turnis of Respite Services, Ben and Ruth Dugan, Eagles, VFW, Western Fraternal, Hy-Vee Drug and Pharmacy, Brosh Chapel all family members and friends for their support and love.
