Libbie Sylvia Stahle, 78, 533 S. Dubuque Street, died Friday, November 28 at the Solon Care Center from complications related to Alzheimers. Funeral Mass will be 11:30 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Fr. David Wilkening presiding. Burial to follow in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Brosh Chapel in Solon, where there will be a 6 p.m. parish vigil. Visitation will also be an hour prior to services Monday at the church.
Libbie was born October 17, 1930 in Solon the daughter of Alois and Frances Adam Rozinek. She married Jim Stahle on June 9, 1953 at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Libbie and Jim farmed in the Solon area. She worked as a RN at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City and for Dr. Marshall in Solon for over 2 years. After retirement she was a hostess for Brosh Chapel as well as being a member of the Legion Auxillary, the Altar and Rosary Society. She managed the Solon Legion Ball Park for over 20 years. Among her hobbies and interests were golfing, gambling, playing cards and spending time with her family.
Libbie is survived by her husband Jim; daughters Diane Stahle (Gene LaSuer) of Des Moines, Lisa (Terry) Swenson of Iowa City; sons Doug (Terri) Stahle of Solon, Steve (Susan) Stahle of St. Louis, and Carl (Angie) Stahle of Solon; twelve grandchildren and two great-granddaughters; a brother James Rozinek of Springfield, Illinois; and sisters Marie Kroul and Rose Ulch both of Solon.
Preceding her in death were her parents, seven brothers Joe, Victor, George, Charles, Frank, Paul and Louis Rozinek and a sister Millie Krob.
