Leslie "Les" Eileen Becicka, 64, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Tuesday, April 27, 2021, in her home. Celebration of Life gathering will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, May 2, 2021, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW.
Leslie was born March 11, 1957, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Kenneth and Gwen (Coon) Sharpe. She graduated from Cedar Rapids Jefferson High School, and later Iowa State University with a degree in Business. Les was united in marriage to Mark Becicka on November 4, 1998, at Lake MacBride. Les worked for many years at FJ Krob in Solon until her retirement. She enjoyed her job and the interaction with the customers. We know there were many a customer who left with a smile, after talking with Les. Les enjoyed playing cards, caring for her pets, cooking, the Chicago Bears, watching tv, and spending time with many friends and family. She will be remembered for her spunk, and spirit, and that smile that brightened your day.
Les is survived by her husband Mark of 22 years; her mother Gwen Sharpe of Cedar Rapids; her step-son Mark (Paige) Becicka; her brothers Jim (Jan) Sharpe and Gary Sharpe; her sister Karen (Bob) Mercer; sisters-in-law Nancy Sharpe and Sherri (Ron) Bettmeng; her brother-in-law Frank (Kim) Becicka; grandchildren Charlie and Sawyer Becicka; many nieces and nephews, Nicky (Matt) Gould, Ryan Sharpe, Jennifer, Lucas (Ashley) Sharpe, Cody Sharpe, Jacob Sharpe, William (Anna) Mercer, Sandra Mercer, Michael Mercer, Chase (Anne) Becicka, Jacob Becicka (Abby), and Emily (Todd) McNabb.
She was preceded in death by her father Kenneth V. Sharpe, her mother and father-in-law Delores and Frank Becicka Jr., her brother Robert "Bob" Sharpe, nephew James Allen Sharpe, niece Stacey Lee Mercer.
