Leonard J. Novak, 77, of Oxford, died Sunday, May 17, 2015 at the University of Iowa Hospital. Leonard was born on January 23, 1938 in Grinnell, Iowa the son of the late Joseph and Anna (Svoboda) Novak. He worked for many years as a farmer for Amana Farms prior to retiring from the Brick Haus Restaurant in Amana. He was a NASCAR enthusiast, enjoyed camping and fishing, and liked to travel whenever and wherever he could. He is survived by; a sister, Barbara Ann Van Epps of Oxford; two brothers, Vern Novak or Cedar Rapids & Edward Novak of Marengo; two nephews, Dennis Van Epps & Billy Joe Novak; and his two nieces, Diane Van Epps and Donna Beyer. A memorial gathering of family and friends will be held from 1 to 2 pm on Wednesday, May 20, at the Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids. Burial of his ashes will follow at the Hala Cemetery in Walford.
