Leonard Leo Noska, 79 of Solon, passed away Sunday, May 30, 2010 at Windmill Manor Care Center , Coralville, after a lengthy illness. Funeral mass will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 10, 2010 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, with Fr. David Wilkening presiding. Inurnment will follow in Oakland Cemetery , with full military rites conducted by the American Legion, Stinocher Post #460. Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Solon.

Leonard was born January 15, 1931 near Clutier, the son of Anton Paul and Agnes (Teznor) Noska. Leonard graduated from Solon High School in 1949. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He is a 56 year member of Stinocher Post 460 Solon American Legion. He was employed by Cherry Burrell Corp./International Paper (Evergreen) in Cedar Rapids , for a period of 36 years, retiring in January 1993. He was united in marriage on November 5, 1955 to Beverly Grissom at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids .

Leonard is survived by his wife of 55 years Beverly ; daughters, Lana (Craig) Hoffman of Mt. Vernon, Lora (Bruce) Zaruba of Tipton, Lisa (Inez) Camacho of Solon; sons, Loren (Cathy) Noska of Solon, Larry (Carmen) Noska of North Liberty, Leon (Dawn Conner) Noska of Marion; thirteen grandchildren, Christopher Hoffman, Carissa (Dan) Thompson, Amber Zaruba (Fiance, Matt Swim), Austin (Liz) Zaruba, Ariel Zaruba, Zach Camacho, Malinda Noska, Tyler Naughton, Carlie Noska, Junion Noska, Kelly Noska, Sam Noska, and Casey Noska; three great grandchildren, Makaila, Johnathan Hoffman, and Gabriel Thompson; nephews, Robert (Donna) Radeke of Belle Plaine, and Steven (Joanne) Radeke of Keystone, niece, Jo Ann (Dale) Johnson of Belle Plaine; three great nieces and four great nephews; and sisters-in-law June Grissom and family, and Claudia (Tom) Griffin and family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Anton and Agnes Noska; sister and brother-in-law, Doris and George (Bud) Radeke; nephew, Allen Radeke; and brother-in-law, Harold Grissom.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Mary's Catholic Church, Hospice Compassus, Solon American Legion Veterans Memorial, and Solon Volunteer Fire Department & First Responders.
