Leonard Frank Kriz, 97, died Wednesday, July 27 peacefully at his home in Marion . Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 1 at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids with Rev. Linda Hanson-Bibb from Salem United Methodist Church presiding. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Sunday, July 31 at Brosh Chapel, Cedar Rapids and for an hour prior to services Monday at the chapel. Burial will follow services in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.

Leonard was born August 9, 1907 on a farm near Ely, the son of John and Mary Zahradnik Kriz. He received an Associates Degree from Cedar Rapids Business College . He worked for over 38 years at Linkbelt Speeder / FMC as machinist. Leonard also worked as a local contractor in the area for many years. Leonard married Mabel Marie Clark, December 25, 1941 in Cedar Rapids .

He is survived by a son Michael D. (Mary) of Merritt Island, Florida; grandchildren Erin (Dow) Wilson of Cottonwood Falls, Kansas, Karen Wheelin of Port St. John, Florida, Michael L. Kriz of Melbourne, Florida, and Tim Kriz of Merritt Island, Florida; greatgrandchildren Whitney Wilson, Ian Timothy Wilson, Joshua Wheelin, and Corinne Rose Gardner.

Leonard is preceded in death by his wife Mabel, who died August 8, 1998 , a daughter Linda Frisch, and a grandson Ian Corwin.
