Leona "Lee" Loyd, 85, of Cedar Rapids, passed away on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy.  Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, March 20, 2023, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW.  Funeral Mass will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Hiawatha. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Leona was born August 11, 1937, in Conroy, the daughter of Elmer and Mathilda (Hunzelman) Martinson.  She graduated from Conroy High School, class of 1955. She worked at Amana Refrigeration where she met her husband, Luke.  Leona was united in marriage to Luke Loyd on December 6, 1969, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.  She worked at AEGON/Transamerica for many years until her retirement in 2003.  She enjoyed tending to her garden and flowers, watching and feeding birds, traveling, and most of all spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren.

Leona is survived by her husband Luke; her children Laura (Andy Rogers) Loyd Rogers and Mike (Katia) Loyd; five grandchildren Clayton, Selah, Reagan, Caleb, and Michael; her brother Merlyn Martinson; her sister-in-law Nancy Martinson; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings Irvin (Marcella) Martinson, Milford Martinson, Norma (Noel) Siems, Joyce (Dwight) Mumm, sisters-in-law Irene Siems, Sylvia Martinson, Edith Martinson, and a sister Anna Marie, in infancy.
