Leo F. Zach, 86 of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday August 5, 2007 at his home after a lengthy illness.  Services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 8, 2007 at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids with Rev. Jim Fields presiding.  Burial to follow in Shueyville Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids.

Leo was born July 24, 1921 in Johnson County, the son of William and Millie (Kounty) Zach.  He married Gladys Becicka on November 14, 1945 in Iowa City. Leo was a proud Army Veteran.  He worked at Hertz Construction and Hawkeye Seed until his retirement in 1997.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and mostly spending time with his family.

Leo is survived by his wife of 61 years, Gladys; daughter Trish and husband Keith Kramer of Swisher; grandsons Noah and Samson; his little four footed friend, Riley; a sister Anna Bernice George; nephew David George; and niece Barbara Smith of Cedar Rapids.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
