Leo Havran, 93, of Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, January 16, 2020, at Cottage Grove Place.  Celebration of Life services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 25, 2020 at St. Paul's United Methodist Church. Inurnment will be in Czech National Cemetery.  Military rites will be conducted.  Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, January 24, 2020 at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW.

Leo was born September 17, 1926, in Center Point, the son of Louie and Julie (Hasek) Havran.  He graduated from Center Point High School, class of 1945. He was proud to be a welder at Iowa Manufacturing, supported the war effort at the age of 16. Leo was drafted into the United States Army Air Corps, where he was stationed predominantly in Japan. After his military service, he was united in marriage to JoAnne Hahn Craig on July 21, 1948 in Center Point.   Leo worked at Barnard and Lea as a welder for approximately four years, as well as a carpenter with Ken Borchell / Dick Tickal for ten years, until owning and operating his own construction/carpentry business for over twenty years.

Leo and his wife JoAnne enjoyed traveling, camping, square dancing, and were avid supporters of the Czech community & Czech Museum in Cedar Rapids.  They were members of St. Paul's United Methodist Church

Leo is survived by his sons Craig Lee Havran, Kevin Randal (Cecilia Balot) Havran, and Clark Douglas (Jill) Havran; three grandchildren Joshua (Brittany) Havran, Mathew (Heidi) Havran, and Valerie Havran; four great-grandchildren Myles Havran, Josephine Havran, Lyric Havran and Iris Havran.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife JoAnne, who died June 6, 2016.
