Lenore Snelson, 97, of Cedar Rapids, passed away peacefully, Friday, February 05, 2016 at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy.  Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at First Lutheran Church with Reverend Steve Knudson presiding. Burial will follow in Czech National Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, February 8, 2016 at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW.

Lenore was born June 23, 1918 in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Amos and Bessie (Staskal) Plotz.  Lenore was united in marriage to Robert Snelson on July 23, 1955 in Cedar Rapids.

Lenore is survived by her husband Robert; her children Dick Nemec (Ken Cameron) and Holly (David) Stotelmyre both of Cedar Rapids; her grandchildren Joseph Nemec, Justin Nemec, Christopher (Jessica) Stotelmyre and Matthew Stotelmyre (Javier Ducker); and her five great-grandchildren Jeffrey Nemec, Rachel Nemec, Channing Baisly-Nemec, Aubrey Stotelmyre and Madison Stotelmyre; and a daughter-in-law Joann Nemec.

Lenore was preceded in death by her first husband Joseph Nemec in 1951, her son Don Nemec, her siblings Lorraine Smejkal, Evelyn Wendell, Kenneth Plotz, Robert Plotz, Louise Shulista, John Plotz and Leo Plotz, and her granddaughter Julie Nemec.
