Lee Brewster, 85 of Cedar Rapids, passed away on Friday, April 13, 2007 at Living Center West after a lengthy illness.  Services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 19, 2007 at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, with burial following in Oak Hill Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 18 at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, and for an hour prior to services at the church.
Lee was born on August 10, 1921 in Rossville, Tennessee, the son of Charlie and Lizzie (Davis) Brewster. He married Minnie Williams on February 1939 in Moscow, Tennessee.  Deacon Brewster was a faithful and dedicated member of Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church.  Lee worked as a farmer, and then was employed by Reeves Volkswagen, Allen Motors, Cedar Rapids Asphalt & Paving, and the City of Cedar Rapids prior to his retirement.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, singing in the church choir, traveling, taking photographs, especially of old barns, and watching television comedy re-runs.
Lee is survived by his daughter, Norma (Olen) Gibson of Blue Springs, Missouri; his son Bobbie (Ruth) Brewster of Cedar Rapids; two sisters: Anna Mae Ray of Cedar Rapids and Louise Brewster of West Covina, CA; grandchildren: Mitchell Gibson of Alpharetta, GA, Olen (Tamera) Gibson of Miramar, FL, Clark Brewster, Carlo Brewster, and Cobie Brewster all of Cedar Rapids, Travis (Becky) Brewster of Mequon, WI, and Deliese Brewster of Ladera Heights, CA; along with 8 greatgrandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Lee was preceded in death by his wife Minnie; his son Joe; two infant children; his parents Charlie and Lizzie (Davis) Brewster; as well as seven brothers and three sisters.
